Test log for File Audit Lab 1.0.0

Expected values, automated checks, browser tests, accessibility checks, and the limitations of this release record.

Run date 2026-10-11Static releaseDemo seed 20261011
Release status: the packaged code passed the automated and browser checks listed below. This is a software-quality result, not a promise of advertising approval or a guarantee that every browser and dataset will behave identically.

Fixed demonstration expectations

The built-in dataset is synthetic and deterministic. It contains no user files. The generator creates 1,248 records across 42 folders, then injects confirmed duplicate groups, same-size false positives, and filename pairs designed to collide under the default rename profile.

CheckExpected resultPurpose
Record count1,248Confirms complete demo loading.
Folder count42Confirms path parsing and folder grouping.
Same-size candidate groups20Confirms broad candidate screening.
Content-confirmed groups12Confirms grouping by matching demo SHA-256.
Deliberate false-positive groups8Proves same size is not treated as duplicate proof.
Files in confirmed groups36Three files in each of twelve groups.
Potential duplicate bytes1.3 GB (1,399,999,692 bytes)Counts all but one copy in each confirmed group.
Largest demo file100.7 MBChecks sorting and largest-file summary.

Automated code checks

  • JavaScript syntax checks for core.js and app.js.
  • Unit assertions for extension parsing, byte formatting, size candidate grouping, verified duplicate grouping, duplicate-waste calculation, name normalization, collision detection, and CSV escaping.
  • Static checks for unique document IDs, required metadata, canonical URLs, valid internal links, sitemap targets, one AdSense account meta tag per indexable page, and the absence of any AdSense loader script.
  • Validation that ads.txt contains the authorized publisher record and that the XML sitemap contains only intended canonical pages.

Browser checks

The execution environment blocks Chromium navigation to network, localhost, and file URLs. To keep the result reproducible without claiming an HTTP render that was not performed, the test assembles an isolated Chromium document from the packaged HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the same demo JSON. The demo fetch is replaced by that in-memory copy. It then exercises summary values, inventory search, extension filters, pagination, duplicate totals, rename collisions, CSV/JSON downloads, local folder selection, the verification-control flow, mobile layout, and console errors. Because this isolated document is not a secure context, the UI-flow test uses a deterministic digest shim; the production SHA-256 function is separately executed with Node Web Crypto and checked against a known digest. Static delivery files and links are checked separately.

Desktop Chromium rendering of the File Audit Lab with the synthetic demo loaded
Desktop test capture at 1365 × 900. The page shows the fixed 1,248-record demo and its published summary.
ViewportChecks
360 × 800No horizontal document overflow; navigation remains scrollable; tool controls stack; summary cards remain legible.
412 × 915Demo loads, tables remain internally scrollable, buttons are reachable, and no page-level overflow appears.
1365 × 900Full workbench layout, demo totals, filtering, duplicate details, rename preview, and downloads.

What this log does not establish

The browser run does not test every operating system, browser extension, filename encoding, network condition, or filesystem. It does not prove that a user should delete any file. It also does not establish compliance decisions made by external platforms. The purpose is narrower: make the product claims reproducible and disclose what was actually tested.

Hub integration check · 2026-10-30

The hub update preserves the File Audit Lab calculation engine and the existing Snapshot Compare and PricePatch destinations. A request revision guard prevents a delayed demo response from replacing a cleared inventory or a newly selected local folder. Seven Node assertions rechecked demo totals (1,248 records, 42 folders, 20 candidate groups, 12 matching-hash groups), a two-name collision and sequence resolution, and SHA-256 on distinct real byte buffers. The existing deploy package tests passed 25 tests; these test the original deployment helper, not every linked tool.

Chrome preview checks reproduced the 79-record PDF filter and zero collision records after adding a sequence. Eight representative pages at a 390-pixel viewport showed no document-level horizontal overflow. Live linked-tool demos reproduced the Snapshot five-path findings and PricePatch results of three ordinary changes, one large change, five blocked rows, and one unchanged price.

These are scoped checks, not an AdSense approval, a full accessibility certification, a real-folder picker test, or a verified Shopify import. The worked examples use synthetic inputs.
